Fall 2023

From Courtney (right): "Bergan is the definition of what it means to be a loyal teammate. She is always there at practice looking to better herself and the team in any way she can. What I appreciate the most about her is that if you're ever having a bad day or feeling down, she knows how to say or do the perfect thing to make you laugh and start feeling better."

From Bergan (right): "Natalie shows up to practice with a positive attitude and is always working hard to improve. In her first couple weeks ever of playing rugby, she has made amazing progress and improved her rugby skills & IQ. She is always working hard and is a great addition to our team this semester. I am so excited to play with her this season!"

From Natalie (right): "Mabree is always super supportive, especially to the newer players on the team. She’s a hard working player and is often loud on the field helping direct people where they need to be. She’s reliable and there to help when you need it. I definitely look up to her and am very excited to continue playing with her!"

From Mabree (right): "Carissa is an excellent teammate. Even though she just started playing rugby this season she has picked up the sport super well. She is crazy good at being able to adapt to new positions as well. I love being able to see new players succeed and I am extremely proud of Carissa already this season."

From Carissa (left): "Carmela is such a great teammate. She's always willing to help others and answer questions, and I know she's been a big help for me learning rugby. She takes any challenge thrown her way, including playing new positions and calling plays. She's also a fantastic kicker, and I've loved getting to play with her this season."

From Carmela (right): "Zora is consistently an incredible teammate on and off the pitch, from keeping others accountable during conditioning, being the first to pick up the equipment when needed, and helping with late-night calculus study sessions."

From Zora (right): "This week, the hammer goes to someone who shows up consistently for practice and always gives 110% effort in everything she does. From Broncos to Bubbles to Bertha, she's always there if I need help understanding something during practice or just advice in life. And she's just someone I can look up to on and off the field. This week the hammer goes to Lucy."

From Lucy (left): “This person has shown so much improvement throughout this season. They're someone I trust to have my back on and off the pitch and has shown her dedication to the team over and over again. She gives me so much hope for the future of Purdue rugby, and I see her becoming a leader of the team. I’m so glad to have her on my side of the field because I would be terrified to play against such a talented and passionate player.”

From Waverly (left): "I'm giving the hammer to Adrianna because she's someone who I've had such a fun time getting to know and being a rookie with. She's someone who I always see putting in the work and always seeing how she can improve. It's inspiring to see her be a beast on and off the field."
